Why I'm the Best Chiropractor Near You

Do I need a chiropractor and if so, how do I find the right one?

I often get asked a variation of this question and wanted to address it.

I also wanted to write a blog post with the words, “best chiropractor near me” a bit self-serving but bear with me I think you’ll learn something useful in your journey towards self care, healing and pain free movement. Take that, SEO!

*Ahem...clear throat and insert assertive wise narrator story-telling voice:

So, who is the best chiropractor near you anyway?

Well, if you live near me then the answer is obvious...it’s me!

Alright alright that is a bit biased. Let me answer in more detail.

No two chiropractors are alike. Which makes it difficult for you, as a patient, to find the best chiropractor (or other health care practitioner) for your specific needs. Or to figure out when and why you to seek a medical professional’s opinion in the first place.

Here’s my 10 point checklist for you to find the best chiropractor near you.

  1. DOES YOUR CHIROPRACTOR LISTEN TO YOU?

She should. After all, it is your story. And like chiropractors, no two stories or neck pains are the same. I want to hear all about it. You are a complicated human and inherent to your healing is understanding not only what hurts, how it hurts and why it hurts, but also how you are managing your pain and what outcomes you are looking to achieve through care.

  2. IS YOUR CHIROPRACTOR ENGAGING?

Not mandatory, but sarcasm and jokes are free in my office and laughing goes a long way in the healing process. If you don’t enjoy your time in my office, you probably won’t look forward to showing up.

  3. DOES YOUR CHIROPRACTOR MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE?

If we dive into the etymology of chiropractic we find that chiro means hand and practic is concerned with action. Our hands and touch are integral to parts of our diagnostics and healing methodologies. If any part of you thinks “I don’t want that person to touch me” it's time to leave and find someone else!

  4. “I DON’T KNOW BUT LET ME FIND OUT FOR YOU.”

I went to graduate school for 5 years to earn my doctorate but I don’t know everything and will tell you if you’ve stumped me. I keep learning everyday and am often humbled by the things my patients teach me.

  5. IS YOUR CHIROPRACTOR A NERD?

New research and evidence constantly alters the healthcare landscape in which we practice. It’s important to find a doc who continues to educate herself to stay on top of new ideas and research.

  6. IS YOUR CHIROPRACTOR MORE THAN A ONE TRICK PONY?

One size does not fit all. I personally shy away from doctors and practitioners who only use one method and would argue you should too. I use a variety of modalities and methods depending on the needs of the patient sitting in front of me. I’m constantly fine tuning and adjusting my care for my patients and love the diversity of care I offer in my office.

  7. IS YOUR CHIROPRACTOR A WOMAN?

As a female, I’m going to let my bias shine through and award myself automatic bonus points! But seriously, here is a study looking at how and why women make better doctors. I know you are skeptical...so just click the link already.

  8. DOES YOUR CHIROPRACTOR WORK IN A COOL RUSTIC-CHIC FARMHOUSE?

Probably not, but I do… and it is awesome. What once was an orchard and goat dairy where a local vet lived and worked has now transformed into a boutique wedding venue by weekend, and my office by week. Okay fine, it’s not all mine, but I share the building with some other awesome women who work there. Sometimes we even like to brag about our strong female boss lady atmosphere.

  9. CAN YOU SCHEDULE ONLINE?

Just pop online and schedule yourself! It’s so easy even my octogenarian patients do it. You can, too just click here to schedule.

  10. DO YOU LEAVE FEELING EMPOWERED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE?

You should. It is your health and only you can be your best health advocate. I am your ally and am always accessible to talk through and co-manage your care with other providers and healers alike. You should leave feeling like you have control and understanding of what is going on and why certain care has been prescribed.
